State prosecutors have notified attorneys for former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that they have decided to appeal the Jerusalem District Court’s recent decision not to convict Olmert on charges of corruption. The State also plans to appeal the light sentence granted Olmert (a suspended sentence and a fine of about USD 20,000, described in this post). Olmert was convicted only of breach of trust in the Investment Center scandal.
